We provide different underlays for different applications. The engineered oak flooring can be laid as a floating floor and an underlay is needed to iron out any irregularities in the sub floor and provide a smooth clean surface on which to lay the board. The underlay show to the right is only 1.8mm thick and has hundreds of small holes to allow heat from any under floor heating that may be installed. It has a very low 'tog' rating to allow the heat to be transferred.
Other underlays include a thicker, 3mm, rubber membrane with a built in moisture barrier. This can be laid on existing floor boards, chipboard or level concrete screed. Both underlays come in packs of 10 square meters.
We now stock Junkers ProTech Oil. This is a durable and fantastic looking oil.
It is an oil-modified polyurethane lacquer for residential and commercial use. It primes & seals in one application wityh a superb colour enhancement & oiled appearance. The Polyurethane gives durability & ease of maintenance and ideally apply 3 coats to get the best results.
Drying time 2-4 hours
As a maintenance oil we recommend Junkers Top Oil. This quick drying oil brings your floor back life.
We are stockists of Fiddes Wax in both a clear and dark finish. All our finished beams are waxed to leave a lovely patina finish.
We can supply these separately and a small amount of wax also accompanies each and every beams in our finishing kits.
